Rolf Session 9 with Mentor Sara Soltau, Cert.Adv.Rolfer(R)
October 10th, 2013 by Joachim Creten
The Rolf Institute called me to enroll for my Unit III, last unit for certification this October 2013 and I accepted. I had to change a lot of thinks in order to get ready. I could not finish this 10 sessions mentor ship with this client. Here her feedback after her session 9 : “
Time to reflect on changes that have occurred since I began this process in mid-June! I have more energy and can accomplish more activities now. In fact, I have not sat down at the sewing machine since early August to finish the quilt that is still sitting there. I keep finding other activities to do instead of sitting still: walk the dogs at the beach, take them to the training field to practice obedience and tracking, work in the garden, take the dog for a bike ride (they run, I ride!), walk around the block with a neighbor, take day trips with friends, etc. With my increased confidence in my balance, my dog and I have done a lot more work together and have developed a better, more trusting relationship, because I can walk more steadily and don’t fall over him as I used to. I still can’t get over the fact that I can walk on concrete or tile floors barefoot now with no pain at all. Possibly because I have been able to increase my outdoor activities, I am sleeping much better as well.
This ninth session concentrated on upper body, linking some of my weak areas (left shoulder and mid-back) to changes I need to make in my posture. I can make changes during my regular daily activities because I am much more aware of my body and its alignment. Body awareness is very helpful.”
