Joachim Creten, Proprietor, LMT since 2005.Welcome to Terra Massage Named after its founder, Dr. Ida P. Rolf, Rolfing Structural Integration is a form of bodywork that reorganizes the connective tissues, called fascia, that permeate the entire body. More than fifty years ago, Dr. Rolf recognized that the body is inherently a system of seamless networks of tissues rather than a collection of separate parts. These connective tissues surround, support and penetrate all of the muscles, bones, nerves and organs. Rolfing® Structural Integration works on this web-like complex of connective tissues to release, realign and balance the whole body, thus potentially resolving discomfort, reducing compensations and alleviating pain. Rolfing® S.I. aims to restore flexibility, revitalize your energy and leave you feeling more comfortable in your body. Essentially, the Rolfing process enables the body to regain the natural integrity of its form, thus enhancing postural efficiency and your freedom of movement. Our approach to Rolfing® S.I. also includes Cranial-Sacral Therapy, Deep Tissue/ Sport/ Lymphatic techniques as well as Reflexology, Aromatherapy. Each session is tailored to the client specific needs. Joachim Creten Certified Rolfer® L.M.T. Owner Joachim Creten, Proprietor, Certified Rolfer®, LMT since 2005. Over 1500 Hours of education in Body Work.Life is full of unexpected opportunities and delights. Growing-up in Europe, I always dreamed of living in America. My route here was circuitous as was my road to becoming a Massage Therapist. Bodywork came to me by accident. I had never had massage before, nor was it a part of my lifestyle before enrolling for classes. While employed as a Sales Manager for a wholesale Jojoba and Essentials Oils company, I felt I could better relate to my Spa Directors and Massage Therapists clientele if I better understood their business and its needs. With that intent, I enrolled in a massage school evening program in Santa Barbara. As a person who is compelled to complete whatever I start, I decided to get my certification at the end of the classes. I was fascinated by all that I had learned. Part of the certification requirement was 75 hrs of massage. A local Spa Owner/Client arranged for me to do my gratis hours at her spa. I enjoyed applying my new knowledge and was thankful to all of the people who had allowed me the chance to work on them. I then returned to my sales position believing that my foray in the Massage World was complete. I was shocked when the spa called saying that people wanted to book appointments with me. From that start a new career was born. I continue to take classes regularly, always interested in building my knowledge base. I am still passionate about essential oils. I developed a natural product line, Terre d’Essence,Essential for the Spa ®, that is for both the Bodywork professional and their clients. In addition, I offer Aromatherapy Workshops for Spas, Bodywork Professionals and the general public.
